St. Georges Day
To celebrate St Georges day all the children in the school made their own St Georges day biscuits!
St. George was an important Roman Soldier who was killed because he stood up to the Roman Emperor who was persecuting the Christian soldiers. In doing this he had to admit to the Roman Emperor that he himself was a Christian. This must have been a really diffucult thing to do as he would have known that the Emperor would kill him.
No matter what the Emperor offered to give him St George refused to say that he was not a Christian,so the Emperor had St George executed .

Summer Term - School Council meeting with Mrs Stephenson.
On Wednesday the 22nd of April 2010 the school council met with Mrs Stephenson to talk about some of the things that the children in the school would like to improve our school.
The things we discussed were:-
A budget for the school council to use
Goal Posts
After school dance club
New reading books
A St Philips Football team
Rugby in school
New playground equipment
Cakes made in school with Fair trade ingredients and
sold to raise money for CAFOD.
More links with our Kenyan link school.
Mrs Stephenson said that we could have all of these things for our school. Hopefully these will help improve our school.

Non Uniform Day tomorrow Friday 23.4.10 for St Georges Day. £1.00 contribution to go to The Good Sheperd appeal and Cafod.
