The School Council needs your suggestions.

The School council would like to remind the children in the school about the suggestion box. This box is for the use of all children within the school to put in any ideas or suggestions that they would like the School council to consider. Without your input we do not always know what you would like to see change or improve at St Philips!

Chinese New Year

On Monday 9th February Mr Lee came to school to work with Class 2 and 3. He showed us chinese star signs and told us it was the Year of the Ox. He explained about chinese culture and showed us some traditional costumes. He demonstrated the chinese art of paper folding and we made our own chinese dragons! It was fantastic we had a great afternoon.

Year 1 Trip to Safety Works

On Tuesday 10th February Year 1 went to Safety Works in Benwell, Newcastle to learn all about keeping safe. The children visited a reconstructed police station, beach, park, kitchen, lounge and a road scene. The children were taught to look for dangers and what to do in an emergency situation. We had lots of experts from the police, road safety, fire service and ambulance service.
