Tree Planting
As part of our school project to update our school grounds we were delighted that the council donated six fruit trees for our field. Pupils were chosen to help plant the trees on the field. This will hopefully provide us with lovely blossom in the spring for all to enjoy.

Ahoy There!
It was 'Anchors Away' on the 11th November when Class 2 went to Hartlepool Historic Quay. The children visited the museum and went onboard the HMS Trincomalee. It was very interesting and we all learnt a lot. We got a musket and canon demonstration. BANG!! We even learnt how to make rope. So if you ever need any rope, class 2 will be on hand to make you some. If you want to find out more and see more photos, please come into class and look at our display.

Vivian French Visit
On 13th November Class 2 went to Dunston library to see Vivian French. Vivian French has written many children's books, many of which the children had looked at and enjoyed before the visit. Vivian had the children spellbound with her stories and shared with them her secret formula for writing stories. Together the children and Vivian wrote their own story which was fantasitic. Vivian even had time to autograph our books. A very enjoyable trip.

Basketball Tournament at STM
On Wednesday 19th November Y5 & 6 competed in the school primary cluster basketball tournament. Here's what happened...
The children who played in the first match were Ben T, Lorna, Lewis S, Lewis T and Bradley and we won 6 - 2!
The second match we won 4 - 2 and Lorna, Lewis, Ben T, Corey and Rebecca were the triumphant team!
We also won the third match!
Then it was the semi-finals and unfortunately we lost but we played really well and supported each other.
Overall we came fourth and we all received medals and certificates.
