I am so pleased that we now have some hatched chicks. They are sooooooo cute, I love them. I wish they lived at my house.
Posted by: Madison Lowes at March 12, 2008 8:05 PM
We had to be very quiet in Class 4 this afternoon, in fact I fear I nagged the children rotten. In the end we had peace and quiet for our new babies and only the sound of cheeping and pipping and of course the sweet sound of busy pens and pencils - I can't wait for day light as I know that pretty soon there will be more! Class 4 now know that in the age old debate as to which came first, the chicken or the egg - it was the egg!

I think this has been a fantastic project for the children they have all been so excited about it. I have even been checking the web cam through out the last two days and loved watching one of the chicks hatch. I just think i'ts a pity we couldn't keep one or two as i think it would really help the children see and understand the differences between free range and battery hens.
